Argh

I can't help but feel down in the dumps lately. I have things to be happy about (residency interviews, doing well in school), but also a lot on my shoulders (best friend diagnosed with a type of cancer with a very poor prognosis, a failed relationship, the stress over traveling to residency interviews, the fear how the residency match will end up). Drawing would be one good way to deal with it all, but I gotta start studying some Radiology. I used to become so engrossed in drawing that studying would take a backseat, but now I do the exact reverse. I almost hide from drawing now, since I feel so out of practice. I'm just not feeling super confident in myself in anything at the present moment.

I did do something fun this evening: went dancing with a group of Indian girls. ^-^;; All their gorgeous, sparkly outfits inspired me to create a piece just to practice digital coloring, but I'd like to wait until I get a tablet first before I tackle it.

My name is Annie. I'm a 4th year medical student who loves to procrastinate.

I used to draw a ton when I was little, but I haven't really had the time because of school 'n junk, but I'm TRYING to get back into it. I'm horribly out of practice and embarrassed to put my work on here, but maybe it'll give me more incentive to try? Who knows. My biggest hurdle is the fact that I'm a perfectionist, so I could spend years tweaking something before I'm completely satisfied with it...well, I gotta get over it! I do like to sketch more than anything else, so that's the bulk of what you'll see here.

also, I was reminded of our conversation about japanese television by seeing a news story about how on a prank show in Japan they made a guy believe that he was in the middle of a shootout. Now when he's in an actual gun battle, he's just gonna think it's a big joke!

Oh god, that Japanese man was like ME during the "incident" here a few weeks ago. :police: Have you ever heard of Nasube? I wish that I could find it, but he was a Japanese comedian who was locked up in an apartment for a year naked, and the only way that he could survive was if he won food by entering these contests where you fill out a postcard with your name and address on it...and he had no idea that the whole thing was being filmed, and that he became this huge celebrity.

For the lols. They actually had a group of comedians try out for this reality show, but they were told that it was for a comedy variety show. Poor Nasubi had NO IDEA what he was getting himself into...[link]
